Preparation for Health Check-up
1. Get enough sleep prior to the check-up .
2. Please refrain from food and drink- for at least 8–12 hours prior to getting a blood test for blood sugar level (FBS) and lipids (fat).
3. Should wear clothing that allows access to upper arm and can be removed easily in order to make it convenient when having blood sample drawn from a vein located on the inside of the elbow, getting ECG, and having chest x-rays.
4. If you think you are pregnant, please inform the staff before having an X-ray examination.
5. Urine analysis should be done 7 days after the menstrual period and only mid-stream urine should be collected .
6. Stool examination, should refrain from eating meat, offal and iron supplements for 1-2 days prior to the examination.
7. Internal examination, please refrain from having sex for at least 3 days prior to the examination and this should be done 7 days after the menstrual period.
Notes:
1. If you have to refrain from food and drink before a blood test for blood sugar level (FBS) and lipids (fat), you are not allowed to eat candies or chew gum because it may cause incorrect test results.
2. After the blood draw, apply firm pressure to the venipuncture site or bend the arm at least 15 minutes * in the case of a person with bleeding disorders, please inform the staff before having a blood draw.
3. You should have your health checked once a year, and keep a record of the result every year for comparison.
